Children have a bespoke music curriculum for these classes.  In P1 children are introduced to the violin, using plucking, rhythm work, playing from symbols and an introduction to the bow.  This is extended in P2 where children are playing from sheet music using the bow. 

The classes each perform a Christmas Musical in December and a musical in the Spring term every second year.  The children also use the textbook ‘Into Music’ which covers the 3 strands of the music curriculum – listening and responding, performing, and composing.
