Support for Learning

Our Support for Learning (SfL) department is at the heart of our inclusive ethos, ensuring that every child is supported, challenged, and encouraged to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our SfL programme caters for a broad range of learners:
– those who need targeted support in specific areas,
– those with identified or emerging additional needs,
– learners who require enrichment or extension, and
– children receiving English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
Pastoral care is central to everything we do. Our SfL team works closely with class teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the wellbeing and progress of all pupils.
We encourage families who are applying for a place and have a child with a diagnosed need or one currently undergoing assessment to refer to both our Admissions Policy and Support for Learning Policy. As part of the application process, it is essential that your child meets with a member of the SfL team to ensure we can provide the appropriate supports.
Our support model is teacher-led, with a focus on building independence, resilience, and confidence in every learner through personalised strategies and collaborative planning. We do not have Special Needs Assistants (SNAs).
