DLRCoCo Comhairle na nÓg

Adam Kelly presents to Councillors

Fourth Year Student Adam Kelly, and four of his Comhairle na nÓg colleagues, presented to the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council in the County Hall in Dun Laoghaire on Monday 14 May.  The 2018 working topic for Dublin City’s Comhairle na nÓg is youth mental health & wellbeing. Since the AGM in October 2017, elected members have been working on progressing the topic further. They have explored what mental health and wellbeing means to them and what they can do to highlight the issue.

Adam explained to the councillors present that Comhairle na nÓg is the official voice of young people in Ireland’s local authorities.  Their slogan is Young voices.  Local Issues.  It was founded in 2016 and currently there are 25 active members representing ten schools in the county

After their presentation, the Councillors were very generous with their praise of the individuals presenting.   Click here to see Adam's short presentation (at the 1 hour, 11 minute mark).

We wish Adam continued success with his work on DLRCoCo’s Comhairle na nÓg and look forward to hearing more about their work in the future.
