SPORTS AT ST. ANDREW'S COLLEGE

The College offers a wide range of extra-curricular sporting activities.

For Boys the main sports in winter are Rugby, Hockey and Badminton. There is also an opportunity to play Basketball as an additional sport. 

For Girls the main sports offered are Hockey and Basketball with Badminton being the additional sport.

There are also opportunities provided for students to compete in a wide range of other sports at Leinster and National Levels.  These include Golf, Swimming, Cross Country, Show-jumping and Sailing to name but five.  

In summer, all students have the opportunity to participate in Cricket, Tennis and Athletics.  There is also an internal, boys’ football tournament.

The College has two international sized synthetic hockey pitches (1 Water based, 1 Sand dressed), 2 Rugby pitches’, a weights facility and a state of the art sports hall with changing facilities.

Over the last number of years, teams from the College have won many Leinster and National competitions.  Students have represented their province and country in Hockey, Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, Athletics, Sailing, Show-jumping, Cycling, Skiing, Basketball, Golf and Soccer. 

Whilst success is sweet, the college prides itself on the number of students participating in the wide curriculum offered at every level. The staff ensures that every opportunity is offered so that each student can fulfill their potential whilst maximizing their enjoyment in their chosen sport.
