Secondary Department Faculty
The key to the success of any school lies in meeting the needs of its students. The calibre and commitment of both teaching and non-teaching staff is of paramount importance if this objective is to be fully realised. At St. Andrew's College, a dedicated and committed staff believes that fostering personal development and protecting student welfare is every bit as important as effective classroom teaching.
The Secondary Department is managed by four Deputy Principals:
Joan Kirby
Monica Docherty
Rob Micallef and Maeve Costigan

| Form teachers are responsible for ensuring that general organisational requests from parents or students in their form are processed promptly and effectively
These Deputies work with the following pastoral care teams:
Deputy Principals: The Deputy Principals are responsible for the management of their divisions (see above). They work closely with their teams of Year Heads and Form Teachers to ensure an effective management of the educational delivery. The Deputy Principals meet regularly with the Headmaster on matters of general policy, strategic planning and issues of concern.
Year Heads: The Year Head structure was introduced to help strengthen the organisation of the College. There are six Year Heads, one per student year. Their role is to act as Coordinator or team-leader working closely with individual Form Teachers so that a comprehensive profile of each student is compiled. All Year Heads meet with the appropriate Deputy Principal on a weekly basis and report on significant incidents of either a pastoral, academic or behavioural nature. This regular communication is central to the functioning of the College as it speedily highlights areas requiring attention.
Form Teachers: Form Teachers are the primary link between College and parent. Parents who wish to obtain information about their child should telephone the office. In many cases, this telephone conversation may suffice but if this is not the case, parents may arrange an appointment with the relevant Form Teacher. Each form has a Form Teacher who is responsible for the general welfare of the students in his/her care. Form Teachers monitor academic progress as well as general behaviour.
