The Season so far...

It is early into the new season but the results have been encouraging from all teams. The SCT will begin their League Campaign on October 14th against Kings Hospital. The JCT will begin their Junior League Campaign on September 23rd in what is sure to be their toughest encounter away to CBC Monkstown.
The JCT have already come through friendly encounters with Wesley, Gonzaga II and Newpark.
The U13s have started exceptionally well with victory in 3 blitzes versus Wesley, Roscrea and Mount Temple. They begin their campaign to defend the U13 shield on November 18th against St Gerards.
Finally special mention must go to our Leinster U18 representative player Jake Cawley who has already traveled to Bedford and is in the squad to face Connacht on Wed 23rd of September. We wish Jake all the best for the inter pro season.

Under 13 Rugby Trip 2009

2008 was an unbelievable season for U13 rugby in which both A and B squads reached their respective league finals, with the A squad winning theU13 Central League for the first time in 7 Years and the B squad narrowly defeated by Gonzaga. It was decided that the squad would be given the opportunity to travel to Soustons and make use of the facilities of rugbyandfrench.com in the hope of improving the players skills and appreciation for conditioning for the 2009-10 season. A tour party of 26 students and 3 coaches assembled on the 18th of June to fly into Bilbao and onward transfer to Soustons.

The sports facilities at the camp include 2 rugby pitches with fit frame, a lake which is used for sailing, rowing, canoeing and windsurfing. Souston beach is close by and is used primarily for surfing as it’s usually too dangerous for regular bathing. With between 2 and 4 rugby sessions per day plus 1-2 of the above activities it was an action packed week in an idyllic setting.

Highlights of the week included the High Wire Park and the paintballing trip as well as the valuable coaching the students received from Nigel Osbourne, Stephen Flood and Kevin O Connor the coaches at this year’s camp. It is hoped that the trip has made the team bonds stronger and the skills acquired will be put to good use in an attempt to capture the U14 Central League this year. Squad numbers have reached an all time high of 45 already this season and it may be feasible to field 3 teams for the first time ever.
