P5O
My name is Áine O’ Gara and I have the honour and privilege of teaching the P5O class of 2012. I am committed to the development of each child in a holistic manner which incorporates developing each child morally, physically, culturally, spiritually, emotionally and academically. I aspire to model respectful behaviour towards each child through consistency and good communication. I believe it is important to work co-operatively with colleagues and parents to provide the best learning environment for each child by creating a positive working atmosphere. I feel it is important to develop the individuality of the child by nurturing both their strengths and their areas for development.
In essence I endeavour to uphold the philosophy of the poet W.B Yeats,
“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
