Introduction & Welcome from Arthur Godsil

Welcome to the Alumni page of the St Andrew’s College website.

 St. Andrew’s Today

Today, St Andrew’s College is enjoying a period of tremendous innovation.

Our student population stands at almost 1,300 students. Though three-quarters of our pupils are Irish, we educate boys and girls from more than 50different countries. St Andrew's College is the first school in Ireland accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools.

Educating the whole child
Our top priority is to provide an environment that meets the needs of each individual child in the context of the changing world. Diversity of aptitude and ability must be provided for in terms of encouragement and facilities. Students have a multiplicity of talents and they will face a multiplicity of challenges.

We must ensure that the resources and opportunities are in place for our students to realise their ambitions and maximise their talents. Our task is to empower each student to fulfil his or her potential by fostering the development of the individual while ensuring that all our students are equipped with the skills they will need to meet the challenges of technological and social change. Literacy, numeracy and adaptability, combined with a high level of cultural and social awareness, are just some of the skills our students of today will need in the world of tomorrow.

It is my duty and that of our entire community, to maintain our national and international reputation and standards of excellence. I say 'community' because, fundamentally, that is what St. Andrew’s College is. We are a community comprising not only students, faculty and staff, but also alumni. We are all bound by the shared, unique experience of St  Andrew’s College and by our aspirations for its future.

Role of Alumni

Throughout its history, the College has benefited from the active involvement of all members of our community, united by a consciousness of their responsibility to sustain and strengthen St Andrew’s College for the generations to come.

Throughout my time as Headmaster, I have enjoyed meeting alumni across the globe. I am heartened by their unfailing interest in, and loyalty to the College.

We now have some 8,000 past pupils with representation in almost every country in the world. St. Andrew’s College is committed to engaging as many alumni as possible in the ongoing life of the College. We want to foster a lifelong relationship which will encourage alumnito keep in touch with us and with each other, and to provide opportunities to support the College.

Active alumni are important to us since they can act as ambassadors for the College, promoting the unique St Andrew’s College experience. Alumni can also enrich the College by lending their energy and expertise to our activities. There are many benefits for you in becoming involved with the alumni network.

So I invite you to join with your fellow alumni in playing an active role in your College.
