Curriculum, Examinations, Reports & Guidance
The Secondary School curriculum incorporates seven major components. These are:

  1. The Junior Certificate programme
  2. The Transition Year programme
  3. The Leaving Certificate programme
  4. The International Baccalaureate programme
  5. The ESL programme
  6. SATs, PSAT
  7. European Annexe 'mother tongue' programme

Full details of curriculum content may be obtained from the College on request.

Examinations/Tests
Formal examinations for all students takes place in December. Marks and grades achieved are entered on reports (other than 6IB) and sent to parents. 'Trial' Examinations are held for Third and Sixth Year students immediately after the February midterm break each year. Years 1, 2, 4 and 5 take end-of-year exams in May. Reports are sent to parents giving details of grades and marks obtained.

Reports
Formal school reports are issued at the end of each term, i.e. in December, March/April, and in June. These give parents an up-to-date assessment of students' effort and progress.

As Fifth Year students are preparing for the Leaving Certificate or for the International Baccalaureate two additional reports are provided to supplement the three other reports. These are posted to parents at the half-terms in October and February.

Sixth year students receive monthly reports which are posted to parents.

Career Guidance and Counselling
Two fully-qualified guidance teachers/counsellors work in the school giving advice on subject choices, third level courses and career options. Formal guidance classes begin in Fourth Year with emphasis being placed on senior students in Forms 4, 5 and 6. Any student wishing to meet with a guidance counsellor should make an appointment and notify his/her subject teacher of any consequent absence from class.
