Sports Participation in sporting activities is regarded by the College as desirable for all pupils as it provides a means of complementing their academic and social development. While participation is the basic objective it must also be recognised that the pursuit and achievement of success in competitive sport is essential in maintaining the interest of the pupils and the morale of the teams.
It will always be necessary to strike a balance between the needs of pupils and teams which represent the College in local, regional or national competitions and the policy of maximising the numbers of students who can participate in the sports of their choice.
In order to accommodate the wide range of sporting interests among students, the College will seek to provide opportunities for participation in many different sports and activities. However, there is a limit to the number of sports which can be provided by the College.
